AgSouth Farm Credit
Demonstration Farm
Come Grow With Us!
A HANDS-ON
FARMING EXPERIENCE.
AgSouth Farm
Credit’s “Demonstration Farm” is located adjacent to the
AgSouth Farm Credit office at 1325 Pearman Dairy Road in
Anderson, South Carolina.
AgSouth’s one-acre small
farm is an educational and informational resource to the
communities it serves. The farm provides opportunities
for local groups to have a hands-on farming experience.
In partnership with organizations such as the Haven of Rest,
Clemson Master Gardeners, Future/Young Farmers, and
others, the farm is utilized to demonstrate, teach and test
farming techniques.
AgSouth provides the necessary inputs for
the growing and harvesting of the crops. The crops are
donated to the groups involved in their production. The crops are then marketed for
the groups benefit.

The Farm’s
Mission
-
Promote
sustainable and small farms via demonstrating profitable
growing practices (including marketing and financial
skills).
-
Educate by
providing the opportunities to actually cultivate food and
horticultural crops. A particular focus will be working with
the local FFA chapters and 4-H clubs. These young people
will tend the farm and grow the crops as their designated
projects and receive the appropriate chapter or club
recognition.
-
Collaborate with
Clemson University and others on testing important or
experimental culture techniques and practices so that other
small, local, sustainable, and/or organic growers can learn
from the testing.
