AgSouth Welcomes Back Mortgage Originator Phil M. Long

STATESBORO, GA. (March 15, 2018): Christy Marsh, Country Home Loan Manager of AgSouth Farm Credit, recently announced that Phil M. Long has returned to the association as a mortgage originator for AgSouth’s home loan department and will be working from the company’s Spartanburg, S.C., office. Long was previously employed by AgSouth as a mortgage originator from 2005-2015.

PhilLong.jpgLong has a degree in business from the University of South Carolina and has more than 18 years of loan origination experience. He returned to AgSouth after a 3-year position as branch manager of Acopia Home Loans in Greenville, S.C. He is currently vice president of the Upstate Mortgage Lenders Association and a member of the Greater Greenville Association of Realtors (GGAR) Community Service Workgroup.

Marsh says that Long will be joining originator Gwen Cooper in expanding the company’s mortgage portfolio in the high growth areas in and around Spartanburg. "Spartanburg is one of the top growing counties in South Carolina. New construction is booming, and we have a construction-to-perm program that fits perfectly with the needs of this market. We see this as a great opportunity to expand the company’s mortgage brand and exposure in South Carolina’s Upstate. We’re happy to welcome Phil back to AgSouth, whose education and experience will make him a valuable addition to our team."
