CFO Alisa D. Gunter Retires After 37 Years with AgSouth
STATESBORO, GA.: (March 24, 2018): Pat Calhoun, Chief Executive Officer of AgSouth Farm Credit, has announced that Alisa D. ("Lisa") Gunter, Chief Financial Officer, will retire from the association as of March 31 after 37 years of service.
Calhoun says that, "Lisa has a passion for two things: Clemson and family, and that includes her AgSouth family. She spent most of her career in the association’s Spartanburg, S.C., office. Her last two years were spent mainly in Statesboro, where she played a significant role in expanding our headquarters’ campus, including overseeing the construction of our new operations center. Lisa’s experience, dedication and skill have all worked together to make her one of AgSouth’s brightest stars."
AgSouth’s Chief Information Officer Jennifer Douglas has worked with Gunter for nearly 15 years. She says, "I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone more knowledgeable of, dedicated to and passionate about Farm Credit as Lisa. Much of AgSouth’s success is due to her expertise and drive, which in turn benefit agriculture and rural America. She will leave behind a legacy of AgSouth family members who, through her mentorship, will do the same."
Comptroller Ann Lane says that, "Lisa is an outstanding leader and business woman. She puts her heart and soul into everything she does. She has dedicated her career to serving Farm Credit and its customers. Our rural communities are better today because of her efforts and determination. Her influence will be seen and felt at AgSouth for years to come."
Calhoun adds that Lisa will be missed by AgSouth’s employees and customers alike. "Throughout her career at Farm Credit, Lisa has been an invaluable part of making our cooperative successful, and we wish her a well-deserved retirement."
