AgSouth Distributes $71.2 Million in Patronage to Customers

Statesville, NC (March 30, 2026): AgSouth Farm Credit announced today that its Board of Directors has approved a record patronage distribution of approximately $71.2 million to its customers. This marks the largest cash distribution in the Association’s history, representing roughly 70% of AgSouth’s 2025 net income.

This year also represents the 38th consecutive year AgSouth has returned profits to its customers, reinforcing the cooperative’s long-standing commitment to dependability and financial strength.

“Our strength comes directly from the farmers, families, and rural businesses we support,” said Chad Puryear, President and CEO of AgSouth Farm Credit. “Returning value to our customers is one of the most meaningful benefits of the cooperative model, especially during times when every dollar matters.”

Patronage distributions are based on the amount of interest customers paid on their loans during the previous year. All eligible AgSouth customers will receive their distribution entirely in cash through mailed checks or direct deposit.

Puryear emphasized the stability and reliability that have defined AgSouth for decades. “Even in a challenging agricultural environment, AgSouth has remained financially strong, reflecting the resilience of the agricultural community and the cooperative relationships that define Farm Credit,” he said.

“We will continue to work hard to earn our community’s business every day; providing dependable credit, competitive rates, and the long term partnership you expect from AgSouth.”
