AgSouth Farm Credit Announces Grand Reopening of Walterboro Branch

AgSouth Walterboro Branch Reopens After Major Upgrade

Walterboro, SC (March 12, 2026) – AgSouth Farm Credit is excited to announce the grand reopening of its Walterboro branch, located at 529 Bells Highway, following the completion of a full facility rebuild.

The reopening marks the culmination of a major construction project that began with the demolition of the original 1967 building in May 2025. The new facility reflects AgSouth’s long-standing commitment to serving the agricultural community of the Lowcountry with modern, efficient, and customer‑focused spaces.

Walterboro Relationship Manager Ricky Varnadoe expressed his enthusiasm for welcoming customers back to the new office. “Reopening this branch is a proud moment for our team and our community. This new facility represents our continued dedication to supporting farmers, rural landowners, and families throughout the Lowcountry. We’re thrilled to return home and continue serving our members with the same personal service they’ve always known.”

The Walterboro location has been a cornerstone of the community for decades, previously serving as home to the Federal Land Bank, the Production Credit Association, Edisto Farm Credit, and Palmetto Farm Credit before becoming part of AgSouth Farm Credit in 2004. Rebuilding on the same site preserves the branch’s deep local roots while providing a fresh, upgraded environment for both customers and employees.

Regional Lending Manager Troy Brownlee added, “This new office is a significant investment in our members and our future. We’re excited to offer a space that enhances the customer experience while giving our employees the tools and environment they deserve. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with the Walterboro community.”

During the construction period, the Walterboro team temporarily operated out of the Orangeburg Branch Office. With the reopening, all staff have returned to the new facility and are ready to welcome customers back.
