AgSouth Welcomes 14 Interns to 2025 Summer Internship Program

STATESVILLE, NC (May 2025): AgSouth Farm Credit has officially launched its 2025 Summer Internship Program, welcoming 14 college students into a season of hands-on learning in agricultural finance and rural lending. This year’s program runs from May 18 through July 31.

Each summer, AgSouth provides students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Farm Credit system while gaining professional experience aligned with their academic and career goals. The program offers real-world exposure to agricultural lending, marketing, legal, and risk departments across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.

“We are thrilled to welcome the 2025 Summer Interns to AgSouth,” said Ben Phillips, Director of Talent & Leadership Development. “Our internship serves as an experiential learning opportunity, and is designed to equip our interns with meaningful, real-world experiences that connect what they are learning in the classroom to the work we do every day to support rural communities. I’m confident they will gain valuable insights, build lasting relationships, and leave with a better understanding of our mission and impact.”

In addition to branch-based learning, all interns will participate in a series of group-wide onsite training events throughout the summer. These include key sessions such as Orientation in Statesville, NC on May 19, the Clifton Strengths Workshop in Statesboro, GA on June 17, and Intern Day on June 18. A signature element of the program is the group project, where interns will be divided into teams to research, plan, and present a designated topic. These projects will be showcased in formal presentations during the Capstone Presentations and Offboarding event, scheduled for July 31 in Statesville, NC.

These events are designed to provide foundational knowledge, strengthen professional skills, and foster collaboration among interns across departments and regions.
