A Commitment to Agriculture

Fifth-generation farmers Jacob and Emily Nolan operate 1,700 acres of row crops on their family farm in Screven, Georgia. Jacob and Emily established Spring Fever Farms in 2005, building it from the ground up. They have since expanded the operation to include pecans, satsumas, strawberries and other commodities.

The couple have a unique commitment to agriculture, which has shown through the success of their operation. Jacob focuses on the production, and Emily focuses on the record keeping.

“What impresses me most about Jacob and Emily is their commitment to ag and their teamwork in which they manage their operation,” Stacy Nobles, Regional Lending Manager at AgSouth Farm Credit, said.

As they have grown in the agriculture industry, they have taken on more responsibilities. Jacob has grown into leadership roles with local co-ops, and Emily has become active in the agriculture community by serving on various boards. 

Continuing the Family Legacy

Looking to the future, Jacob and Emily hope their children will someday return to the farm and continue the family tradition. Coming from a family of hardworking farmers before them, they aspire to keep Spring Fever Farms in the Nolan family for as long as possible.

“I would love for my kids to come back, at least one of them and continue on,” Jacob said. “Hopefully we'll have a sixth-generation farmer.”

True Partnership
